Sean Ledwith NCPD Malverne, NY, Death; Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) member has died of suicide

The Nassau County Police Benevolent Association has announced, with deep regret, the passing of Active Police Officer Sean Ledwith, a dedicated member of the Bureau of Special Operations (BSO).

Officer Ledwith proudly served the Nassau County Police Department for 12 years, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues through his professionalism, commitment, and service to the community. In addition to his law enforcement career, he was a decorated United States Marine, having completed multiple overseas deployments in service to his country. His life reflected a profound dedication to duty, sacrifice, and honor.

The loss of Officer Ledwith is being deeply felt across the department, the BSO unit, and the broader law enforcement and military communities. Colleagues and friends remember him as a steadfast officer, loyal teammate, and selfless public servant. The PBA has asked the public to keep Officer Ledwith’s family, friends, and his BSO brothers and sisters in their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
